Fireplace Before and After

Since moving into our new house, I have been trying to make do with what we have as far as decorating. Yes, I bought new furniture, but with smaller things, I'd rather "redo" than buy new. If I don't have what I need, I'd rather scour the thrift stores or yard sales to find something that will work, even if it needs a little TLC.

This "lovely" fireplace enclosure came with the house.

Brass really isn't my thing so it's been bothering me quite a bit. The weather has been so cold or rainy lately that I haven't been able to get outside to do any spray-painting make-overs. So, I took advantage of our wonderful sunny day today and got busy.

Now, one can of High Heat Black Spray Paint later, it's much more to my liking!

I did all of this while the hubby was at work. I wonder how long it will take him to notice...

I'm joining Kimba over at A Soft Place to Land for her DIY day!

Much better than the brass! You'll have to let us know how long it took your hubby to notice!

I did that too! And my kids had to point it out to my husband. ;) http://katandgray.blogspot.com/2009/12/hole-of-different-color.html if you're interested.
